Easily accessible by boat or car, the Green Flash restaurant overlooking Pine Island Sound on Captiva Island is an institution where generations of locals and visitors have dined. The iconic restaurant named for the meteorlocigcal phenomenon of the same name opened in its present form in the mid-1990s, The struture was originally built on the site of the historic Timmy’s Nook. “The Nook,” constructed by T.M. “Timmy” Niles, was a well-known gathering place and landmark for more than 40 years. Chef and restauranteur, Andreas Bieri founded the present waterfront restaurant in 1994. The Green Flash now strives to keep the heritage and spirit of Timmy’s Nook and Captiva Island alive.

The island’s finest waterfront restaurant with is located southwest of Marker 38 on the sound. Visitors regularly enjoy the picturesque view of Pine Island Sound and nearby Buck Key, as chefs prepare the culinary delights. Those meals can be enjoyed in the in indoor seating area or on the dockside patio.

Diners can enjoy breakfast that is only served on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests have such options as house-made cinnamon rolls, banana caramel French toast, eggs Benedict, breakfast croissants and more. Lunch options are a full offering of seafood appetizers, salads and entrees that include a variety of sandwiches.

Patio seating is also offered.
At dinner time the eatery really begins to shine, offering a complete array of appetizers, including many types of fresh seafood, soups, salads and mouth-watering entrees. Included among these are a vatiety of shrimp dishes, grouper, swordfish, crab claws and for the landlubbers, choices such as steaks, veal and pork tenderloin. An array of delicious desserts will please any pallate to cap off a meal.

The fare is varied, with a seafood flare.
You also can start your meal or have an after-dinner aperitif from their fully stocked bar. To complete your experience sip on a Green Flash drink – that’s a Pina Colada topped with melon liqueur.

A full bar can quench any thrist.
A childrens menu and a full bar are also available. Lunches and dinners are served daily except Thanksgving and Christmas.
The Green Flash is ideally suited to host your special event in their upstairs banquet room for groups up to 50 people. Gift certificates are also available as well as a variety of souvenirs such as polos, tees, caps, puzzles and other items.
