Earl’s Hideaway Lounge and Tiki Bar is the kind of place where the parking lot is likely to be filled with motorcycles, tourists’ cars with out-of-state license plates and pick-up trucks of local fishermen. That is to say, it draws an eclectic crowd, especially on weekends.

The atmosphere at Earl’s is laid-back casual.

So what’s the attraction of this watering hole on Indian River Drive in Sebastian? It serves up great libations at the inside bar or tiki hut outside on the sand. There are menus for breakfast through dinner, featuring the claim to the best pizza in town. It also has a great view of the Indian River, just across the road. But, above all, it offers a vibrant live music scene.

As they self-describe the atmosphere, it’s a place for drinkin’, dancin’, hootin’ and hollerin’.  Weekends feature full schedules of local and regional bands on Friday through Sunday. The music leans heavily to classic rock and blues that make your feet want to move out onto the sand dance floor. Even better, there’s never a cover charge at Earl’s: the music is always free.

Particularly when the sun goes down Earl’s come alive.

Friday and Saturday evening sets begin at 8:30 p.m., while there are also sets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Each of these feature different bands.

Of course, if you prefer, you can grab a cool drink, pull up a chair, dig your toes into the sand and just enjoy the music. The vibe is always casual in this Florida roadside dive.

When you are ready to kick back with a drink and live music after a day of fishing, Earl’s Hideaway and Tiki Bar is hard to beat.
