When sampling the waters of the Soque River at Blackhawk for trophy-sized trout, you may opt to complete your experience by staying a night or two onsite at this award-winning fishing lodge in North Georgia. See why anglers and visitors from far away are attracted to this little piece of angling heaven that proprietors Abby Jackson and her husband John created three decades ago from her family’s farmland. John’s family roots are also planted deep in the region with his grandfather being the first doctor in Habersham County. Located on the Soque River, and armed with a vision that incorporated the planning and careful management of the two miles of trout water and its riverbanks, Abby has created a fishing destination where massive rainbows and brown trout in the 3- to 12-pound-range grow and thrive.

Blackhawk offers a rustic 1860s farmhouse loaded with charm and character, but restored to provide the modern comforts to make your stay cozy and comfortable. It sits among lush vegetation, as well as flower and vegetable gardens. The farmhouse accommodates eight anglers, has a fully equipped kitchen and an ample common area. A Big Green Egg is also available for guest to use.

An outdoor fireplace situated on a large stone patio is ideal for enjoying a roaring fire, while grilling a steak or just recounting fish stories of the day. A selection of tables and seating areas also will accommodate any group of anglers and guests comfortably. A chalet that is popular with couples is also available right next to the farmhouse.
