AFTCO Women’s Hydronaut Rain Jacket

On The Fly Gear

Serious women’s outerwear for the serious fisherwoman.

January 2021

As the crew from On The Fly South found out recently on fishing trips to Missouri and east Tennessee, getting on the water in winter can be a cold and wet experience. It definitely calls for having the right clothing to match the elements.

For the lady anglers, that has been bit of a problem in the past. Many simply got tired of donning misfitted men’s cold-weather or rain gear. AFTCO has now addressed that problem with the Women’s Hydronaut waterproof rain jacket. The jacket offers all the features of the original Hydronaut, but with a cut specifically designed for the female caster.

A SpeedVent that is built in the hood keeps it from blowing off during high-speed boat runs, or due to gusty winds while wading the river. Add to that a 30K waterproof rating, fully-taped seams and double cuffs, all of which ensure there is no leakage and that sleeves will remain dry.

Other features of the Hydronaut are two layers of 100 percent nylon shell, with a 100 percent polyester lining, a double articulated storm flap and a Molle system camera mount pocket.

Additionally, there are covered vertical zip chest pockets, top entry pouch pockets and brushed tricot handwarmer pockets. It also has D-rings and a rear buckle waist cinch for comfortable fit.
