The Classic Center in Athens has been named the new home of the Georgia Fly Fishing Show effective Jan. 9-10, 2027, announced Ben Furimsky, show president and CEO.
The new Georgia show site features a 54,025 square foot exhibit hall with adjoining theaters, restaurants and other amenities.
“The Athens Classic Center has everything needed for both exhibitors and show attendees. We will have ample room for fly tying and casting demonstrations and other classes, seminars, and how-to-do-it sessions. Parking and all other services and facilities are absolutely top notch,” said Furimsky.
Additionally,” he added, “the faculty and staff of the 762 acre 42,000 student University of Georgia campus in Athens brings the Fly Fishing Show face to face with its core fly angler audience: Male age 40-60; college educated; $75,000+ income; trout-focused; travels to fish; and buys gear, books and guide trips.”
On The Fly South will have a booth at the show and Editor/Publisher Jimmy Jacobs will be presenting a couple of Power Point seminars on regional fly fishing.
